Naves was born on July 27, 1984, in Soweto, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. His love for hip-hop music began during his secondary school days, and this passion heavily influenced his future career choices.
Supported by his parents, DJ Naves pursued his dreams. He completed his basic and secondary education in Soweto and later went on to earn a degree in Sound Engineering, driven by his strong interest in music.
Career
Lebogang is a well-known name in South Africa as a DJ. Together with Sphectacula, he forms one of the most popular DJ duos in the country. They host Ore Party on Metro FM and have collaborated on an album titled Kings of the Weekend, which earned five nominations at the Metro FM Awards.
Both DJs are also judges on 1’s and 2’s, a music reality show in search of Mzansi’s next top DJ. Lebogang has ventured into television as well, landing roles such as playing a DJ in the second season of the South African drama series Isibaya and portraying Mr. Malindi in the series Taxi Ride. He has made several guest appearances on other South African TV shows. DJ Naves has appeared as a judge in four seasons of the reality competition show 1’s and 2’s.

The Metro FM DJ is married to Noluthando. The pair tied the knot in a lavish traditional wedding in Johannesburg, South Africa. Friends and family attended to witness the joyous ceremony. DJ Naves’ wife wore a beautiful brown patterned mermaid gown.
