He started by playing as a disc jockey and making recordings. During his school days in Pimville Zone 4, he met a friend named Thami, whose father worked as a DJ at Swazi Radio, an independent station broadcasting from Swaziland. Glen and Thami would often skip school sports days to visit the 702 Studios at Atkin House in downtown Johannesburg, where they watched popular DJs and Thami’s father at work. Career History

DJ Glen Lewis began his music career shortly after completing high school. In the 1990s, he joined Radio Thohoyandou, later moving to Radio Bop and then Metro FM, where he became a well-known figure. He left Metro FM in 2017 and joined Touch HD. After a year at Touch HD, Glen moved to Radio 2000, where he hosted the weekday shows The Glenzito SuperDrive and The First Avenue Breakfast Show with Unathi Msengana. His time at Radio 2000 faced challenges after he was fired for playing music from his own device, which went against the station’s policy. However, he was later recalled to host The Glenzito SuperDrive show from 6 am to 9 am on weekdays.

Despite a rocky period, Glen built a strong following on Radio 2000’s MorningBuzz show and continued to play at local clubs. According to Sundayworld, anonymous employees revealed that Glen Lewis chose not to renew his Radio 2000 contract and instead joined Kaya FM, where he reportedly received a lucrative offer to help boost the station’s audience and revenue. He resigned from Radio 2000 in March 2024 and started at Kaya FM the following month.

Although he hasn’t released personal music albums or songs, Glen Lewis is credited with several popular mixes, including Live from a Secret Location, Live from Vinny’s Birthday Tour, Mid-Tempo CD, and Numero Uno from 1999. On April 15, 2024, Kaya FM presenters Sizwe Dhlomo and Andy Maqondwana welcomed Glen Lewis during his first show at the station. Sizwe Dhlomo mentioned that Glen had been a major inspiration for his own career in radio.

Glen Lewis first started at Metro FM in 1995, where he hosted several programs until his departure in 2017. Besides radio, he served as a judge on the second season of Popstars and also appeared in the SABC2 soap opera Muvhango.
